Player Development Pathway

Roselands FC supports players at every stage of their journey, from learning the basics to excelling in competitive leagues. Here's an overview of our development pathway:

  • U6/U7 (MiniRoos):

Focus on fun and foundational skills like dribbling, scoring goals, and teamwork.

Games are played without goalkeepers to encourage free-flowing play.

  • U8-U13:

Emphasis on skill acquisition, including first touch, running with the ball, striking, and one-on-one situations.

Teams begin to incorporate goalkeepers and structured gameplay.

  • U14-U21:

Development of tactical understanding, team strategies, and advanced technical skills.

Competitive gameplay focuses on controlled pressing, playing through the midfield, and goal-scoring opportunities.

  • Over 35, Over 45, and All-Age:

Designed for players of all skill levels who want to continue enjoying the game. Teams can be social or competitive depending on the group’s goals.

Health & Safety

Injury Management Guidelines

At Roselands FC, player safety is our top priority. Here’s how to manage injuries and ensure a safe return to play:

  • First Aid Basics:
  • Rest: Stop all activity to prevent further damage.
  • Ice: Apply ice packs (wrapped in cloth) to reduce swelling.
  • Compression: Use a bandage to support the injury and control swelling.
  • Elevation: Raise the injured area above heart level if possible.
  • Each team is equipped with a first-aid kit. Managers or coaches can assist in minor injuries.
  • For serious injuries (e.g., fractures, head injuries), immediately contact emergency services and notify the club.
  • Apply the R.I.C.E. Method for soft tissue injuries:
  • Return-to-Play Protocols:
  • Players recovering from injuries should consult a qualified healthcare provider.
  • For concussions, follow "No Return Before 14 Days" guidelines as per FA’s head injury protocols.
  • Obtain clearance from a medical professional before resuming training or games.
