Working with Children (WWC) & Child Safe Framework

Roselands Football Club has implemented systems, policies and processes based on the Child Safe Standards aligned to the Football Australia Safeguarding Policy.

These standards enhance our commitment to put the interest of children first and to keep them safe from harm.

One of the standards implemented that you would be familiar with is the fact that our coaches, managers, committee members and club volunteers all hold valid working with

children checks (WWC) and complete the relevant learning programs provided by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

There are some things you should be aware of that we instill in our club for the safety of our children and volunteers. These include:

  • Only having communication via What’s App in relation to team and club information
  • Requiring parents/guardians/carers to be present at training and games as no child under the age of 18 can be left at the field without supervision.
  • All training is conducted during specified nights (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and is team based only – no individual training.
  • If transport arrangements are being made with the Coach/Manager or other club volunteer (such as car-pooling etc) any child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by another registered player from the same team or with the Coaches/Managers own child

Child Safe Framework

The safety and well-being of children at Roselands FC are our highest priorities. Our Child Safe Framework includes:

  • Child Safe Standards:

All staff, volunteers, and coaches complete a Working With Children (WWC) check and child safety training.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy:

Discrimination, bullying, or any harmful behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • Supportive Environment:

Clear communication channels for children and parents to report concerns.

Commitment to inclusion for all players, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and those with disabilities.
